Earth Technologies is an award winning environmentally friendly high performance surfboard and stand up paddleboard factory. 6 years ago (operating under the old label as E-Tech Boards) it was launched as the first of its kind in the world by then Co-owners Ryan Harris and Todd Patterson with one mission in mind: To demonstrate to the greater surfing community that there are greener and more sustainable surfboard production methods that will not compromise the performance of the board…In the past 6 years a lot has transpired. In January of 2017 the original factory and company closed its doors. The past several months have been a whirlwind. Ryan rolling solo this go round has officially launched the new and improved Eco Board Capital of the planet. With an awesome new space found in late December 2016 the floor plans came together in January 2017 while we were demolishing the original factory. The new shop is a dramatic improvement on the old one. By not just trashing the original lumber, ducting, electrical and majority of the original factory components we were able reach a goal of doing a 75% recycled build out in our new dream factory. With key improvements made to every production room were are going to be able to maximize our efficiency while producing more boards due to increased demand. In our state of the art facility the goal is to make the most sustainable boards possible while reduce our carbon footprint and minimizing our environmental impact. We have partnered with some of the biggest brands in the industry to facilitate the transformation of surf culture and surf industry into one powerful community that strives to protect the ocean playground.

E-Tech was known for working with advanced renewable and recycled materials. Earth Technologies looks to improve on these standard procedures. We use the best sustainable materials to make each and every board. Super Sap bio epoxies from Entropy Resins have gone into every board for the past six years and will continue to. Recycled foam blanks and recyclable blanks are at the core and we use a variety of other non traditional materials that help us reduce our carbon footprint. Sustainably harvested veneers, organic plant based cloths, and a volcanic rock based composite are some of  the key ingredients going into our green boards.

Ryan is constantly on the lookout for better, cleaner, and greener construction methods. We have teamed up with major industry brands such as Pyzel, Maurice Cole, Lost and Channel Islands to glass boards in our eco-friendly way and expand the visibility of green glassing. In addition to working with Sustainable Surf to promote ecoboards and greener construction methods, we regularly do live glassing events to educate the greater surfing community such as The Pier Paddle Fest in Santa Monica (annually held in June). We have and will continue to give tours of our factory for local surf camps and schools to educate a new generation, enlisting their help in the effort to keep the blue planet green. Earth Technologies…The Evolution of the Ecoboard.
